HEI NEWS!!

Good Morning! 

What a fun and wholesome show it was! Loved Chris's good energy, laughter, and quick wit. A natural fit for the show!  Check out his special "Hell" it's a wild ride! 

And it was great to have Ruth and the Battleboro gang in! I was so taken with her song and listened to it many times, especially when it was decided I'd sing along with her. Here's our rehearsal of it, earlier that morning... 

Mono No Aware 

Marilyn and I spent the week binging through Killing It's Season 2, which is... actually great??? It's very funny, with great performances (especially from Claudia) but also super dark and very specifically satirical about the uphill battle to deal with the late-stage capitalist hell world we've built for ourselves.  I wish they had a little more time and money because sometimes the low budget shows and they overstretch their ambitions, but on the whole, it's a quality show and I'm always surprised when a modern comedy show written by professional comedy writers can actually make me laugh!

Here's a little inside tip... Monday, Hei Network has something coming for you... Gregg and I recorded a nearly one hour Summer Movie Recap Listening Experience!  It's really funny! So, Hei Members look out for that.  

We're dying to get back in and make Season 14, but we just have to wait for the strike to end to do it properly. It's killing us and we have a ton of ideas, but we're going to make sure no one feels burned. On Monday we'll also announce a 3 month extension for any annual members. As things stand, it's hard to imagine the strike ending soon enough for us to have episodes ready this year.  But we're planning on gearing up as soon as it's over and the season would likely dovetail nicely into the next Oscar Special, so that will be fun to play with how that will all work. 

I've also been working with Editor Chris on making a fun tour recap video, compiling all the goofs and gags from the summer into one place. That should be coming next week for Patrons Only. 

Oh, and this may be too early to announce but I think McSweeny's is going to be putting out my Tour Diary in some form... I've been working on it with Dan Mulcahy, adding more pics, expanding, editing... It's looking really good.  More on that soon!
