The End of The Road. Sorta.

Where the hell am I? Let's see, open Maps, drop a pin, hang on... OK! Approaching Oklahoma City!

Last show of the summer! We almost did it! The party won't be quite over tonight, as we have a 2 day drive back to LA, with a couple of stops in New Mexico and Arizona. I'm glad for that. I don't like an abrupt end, where every disperses right after the show. We need to unwind and process and decompress before hitting home.

Yesterday was uneventful, as the temperature made doing anything much outside verging on dangerous. And we were playing at a venue outside of town. So a short walk to a nice but "could be anywhere" hipster coffee shop turned out to be the big event of the day. The show was wildly fun, with great sound and, an energetic and engaged crowd. Our merch person, Claire from last summer made a surprise visit and we got a good hang time with her after the show.

During Backwards, when I invite 2 people up on stage to dance, a third man came up, a middle-aged dude, with a tight polo tucked into his tight khakis... he reeked of "I own a Ford Dealership" is the only way I could describe him. I forced him off stage... later when I'm commanding the audience to kneel, he stood by the bar and refused, I gave him a lot of shit and had the whole audience turn on him. I said later, "I love having an enemy to play with."

I've got my dad and his partner, Henia in attendance tonight, so I'll have to do some family hanging tonight at some point.

One more show. Feeling, some relief... No disasters, everyone on the bus seems to still love each other very much and I still love doing this.
