Tour Diary - Part 17
Added 2023-08-14 13:21:55 +0000 UTCInto the midwest, we go! into Ohio! Fields of GREEN! Columbus here we come!
I feel rested and ready for the week ahead.
Yesterday, i got up, walked down to the falls for a daytime peek, got a Dosa and headed back to the bus... JP and Luke we just heading out for their own Falls peek. Ellie was up so she had some breakfast and then the two of us headed back out to do some deeper exploring.
We walked over to Goat Island and then up the side of the river to the Niagara Gorge Trail. The further you got away from the Falls, the less people and it got real pretty- lush and dense with wildlife and stunning *terrifyingly high views of the river and the falls. We had walked pretty far and suggested we find some city bikes to rent. Now on the bikes, things got even better. We whipped over to the neighborhood we were in yesterday so Ellie could see the house with all the flowers. Then we biked back along a nicely maintained path, cruising down along the river until we cut left and to our bus/hotel.

Some resting, then JP, Josh and I finally got around to using the baseball mitts we packed and had a toss out on the big old lawn outside the bus. We threw the ball around hard for about 30 minutes - That's really the limit for tossin the ball around.
I had a shower, then we went to an Indian Buffet for dinner. I don't know the deal with all the Indian stuff in Niagara Falls but I'm grateful for it! I never eat it at home anymore because the kids don't like it yet...
Then we rented more bikes, headed over to another spot on Goat Island where you are basically at the lip of the falls, and it's all misty and insanely pretty.

It was pretty early by the time we got back to the bus, but I was pooped from a full day of moving around and headed off to read and zonk out.
See you tonight Columbus!

Yeah Niagara on America’s side is pretty run down, it’s the Falls and then the main city is all beat up, but a big Indian population with good eats.
