Tour Diary - Day 16

DAY OFF! Ellie and I are a little bummed because we moved the bus from the venue, which was in this quiet, desolate little nook of Niagara Falls with great walking paths by the river, and old houses covered in overgrown wildflowers... The main street (literally Main Street) had a real "Roger & Me" vibe, blocks of shuttered businesses... seems like it's on the road to Ghost Town... Now the bus is a few miles north, in the more touristy part of town, closer to the Falls but with Papa John's and Casinos and tourists walking around. But we're not far from the weird place if we wanna venture back.

After the show, we walked down to the falls around midnight and folks, it's a sight to see: A genuinely impressive wonder of the world!  I think I said "WOW" too many times because my voice is feeling rough this morning. I'll have to really try and not talk today. A seven-show run starts tomorrow night.

The show itself was mixed - cool room, but a little run down and dirty - The green room was upstairs in the front of the house, so I had to commit to being back there before the doors opened and enter from behind the audience.  It was fine, but it wasn't the nicest space. Little flies everywhere, bad seating. Had some delicious Indian Food which made us all smile.

It was sold out, but the crowd felt a little timid at first. Everyone felt just a little too far away.  I got them loosened up eventually. The sound on stage was OK -  better for the band for some reason.  I mixed a few things up on stage, called some audibles...  and made it fun and surprising for us.  The band felt great about it and was really jazzed to complete the week with a fun one.  I felt wiped out and a little sad. Folks, I get SAD sometimes!

Big midwest push next week! Tearing it up and down the middle of the USA> see you out there!

Comments

I'm loving these tour diaries. Thanks for all the effort you put into it. I'm happy to see you having fun bud.

Totally agree. I find that with a lot of this kind of absurdist humor. Maybe I'm just slow and it takes me a few watches lol

They almost need a second watch. I think I've watched it roughly 3 times now
