Tour Diary Part 5

Rolling into San Antonio, after a nice chill day of nothing.

We parked at the Holiday Inn Express in Van Horn TX - took a dip in the pool... showered in our day room, watched the news of the indictment of DJT, had a nice dinner with the gang at Van Horn Cattle Co... we split a slice of cheesecake which has now become a bit of an in-joke on the bus due to a new joke in the comedy set... if you know, you know... and soon many of you WILL know. Took in the Texas clouds and hit the sack.

I haven't mentioned what I'm reading...

My God am I loving this book. It's a short telling of Bruce's Nebraska period, wonderfully written with Bruce's cooperation. I'm so sad to see it come to a close. I highly recommend it to anyone even vaguely interested in Bruce or even just the creative process.

My voice was a little tender yesterday after 4 shows in a row, and is usually the case at the start of the tour. Gotta take care of it, as it takes a pounding every night. Gotta find a few places in the show to not fully scream my fool head off. Gotta be diligent about warming up properly and not talking too much after the show. There's a lot of shows left!

With the addition of a few new songs, we're all talking about cutting a song, and it's hard because everything is sounding good, but there's a feeling that the show is one song too long, and don't want to tire out the audience. I think we know what to do... but it's a nice problem to have and we'll probably rotate one or two nightly to keep it fresh and tight for all of us.

Vic's arranged for some breakfast tacos upon our arrival in San Antonio... and so now that's all I can think about.
