Tour Diary Part 2
Added 2023-07-30 15:13:15 +0000 UTCGood morning! Cruising down the 215 towards San Diego, after an early morning stop at. the Bus Repair store to fix a leaky water pipe or something. I'm hoping they can also resolve a weird issue that's causing some trouble. There's a closet in the back of the bus, and in the closet is a safe, the kind you might find in a hotel. The safe has an alarm when you try to open it too many times, OR apparently when it's jostled too much like it might on a bumpy highway road, which has led to the alarm going on a few times in the middle of the night! This is not ideal!!
Other than that, no complaints! Everyone is is good spirits and we've now got a couple of good shows under our belt. Both Monterey and San Luis Obispo are beautiful little towns and maybe the last bit of reasonable weather we'll see on this tour for a while...
My voice is holding up really well at the moment ,and II think I've adjusted a few things in the standup set to give me a better chance at enduring the whole month...
I've added a few new things to the set and last night, it got me good. I don't want to reveal too much but in the middle of this particular section, I just got caught up in the stupidity of it and it really started cracking me up... I could see JP off to the side, losing it - He said he had tears in his eyes as I fumbled and tried to keep things on track. Always fun when that happens. I had this closing bit going on in my mind for a while and I knew there was something funny about it, but I just needed to start doing it to find out what it was!
We have a little game we play on tour. We rate each show based on 4 categories:
1. Greenroom / Backstage
2. Sound (our monitors and the house sound)
3. The Crowd
4. The Performance
There's 7 of us voting with a high score of 5 for each category - so 140 is a perfect score... Here's where we're at so far...

Who's gonna hit that perfect 140!!!! Oftentimes, the green room can *sink a score... so don't take it too personally if your home town scored low. OR, take the initiative and get involved... inquire with the venue to make sure they are providing us with a clean, comfortable place to be for a few hours! It doesn't take much to make us feel welcome!
See you tonight San Diego! Our first big one, with it basically sold out in a big old nice theater. Can't wait!
Peace and Love, T
