What a week of shows. hope you've been enjoying them as much as we have making them. Moshe and Natasha were just A+ hangs, I loved Moshe's Dylan hot takes and Natasha's cackling. From the comments, it seems like I'm on the right side of history with the Michael McDonald clip!  

And let us not forget about TMBG! What a thrill! After the show, Linnell was telling me how he and his son both loved my standup special It's cool when over the course of a few hours a couple of childhood heroes just become regular dudes you'd like to get a drink with. 

If you care whether I don't like Sparks, please don't. I think this article succinctly expresses my opinion on them and having watched the documentary, dipped into their catalog and seen them live, I don't think I'm capable of being swayed the other way. But that's how it is: you like what you like, and that's OK.  Bill Maher has every right to hate punk (hey, I'm not a big punk guy either) - Of course Bill's smarmy dismissal of it is what's funny about it - It's funny how the show can sometimes sway between pointed opinions and arguments about stuff and then back to: who cares, like what you like! Of course, none of it matters and it's all in good fun and none of these opinions are going to stop the war in Ukraine or slow the melting ice caps. 🤪

Monday, I was texting with Chelsea... I was lying around, not being very productive and in the back of my head, wondering... I should figure out where and when to picket, but hadn't been asked and didn't want to show up alone. She wrote me: Welll, well, well... like she was reading my mind. We went back and forth about picketing, goofing on it at first, but then I was like, we should gather some of our funny friends, so at least we know some people there and maybe that would make it fun ( I know it's not SUPPOSED to be fun, that's not the point...)  So I started asking people and just about everyone one (aside from a few who would be out of town) were down, and grateful for me taking the initiative to ORGANIZE something. I've never picketed before so I wasn't sure what to do and what it entailed, but I did my best to give everyone as much info as I think they'd need.   Of course, it's not very complicated. You show up and walk around with a sign! 

But anyway, I arrived at 9 and just about everyone I reached out to showed up! As you can see from my instagram posts... It was a good time! Caught up with people, made some quality jokes... got my steps in... 

NOW.... for the beef... Maron was one of the "guys" I reached out to and he was right on top of it. He asked if he should invite some people. I said SURE! He was there and in good spirits. But... LOOK at how he framed it for the AP!  

you son of a bitch! hahah. He stole my valor! All for the cause, I suppose.  If you read the article, Eric and I took the press opportunity to be silly. I should have controlled the narrative. Lesson learned.

Holy shit, the tour starts NEXT WEEK!  One big new feature for me this tour is, I'm going WIRELESS GUITAR!  One issue for me on stage has been the rat's nest of cables on stage as I try and move around and work the stage and now I'm gonna be free to be ME! I may even dip into the crowd and wail a pentatonic solo from Row E. 

More on this later, but August will not be a dry month for Office Hours... Doug will host a show with some very special guests... we'll take a week off, but we have a few really fun things in the can... plus we'll be posting PATRONS ONLY on the road stuff... a few zoom hangs... me and Victor on the bus... we'll have you covered with stuff so... STICK AROUND!
