I don't get why the McDonald thing was a big deal. This girl's a tween. If she was like 7 years old, it'd be a cute story (and I thought she was when I first heard about it). As a tween, you might as well say you like the Beatles or something. Who gives a fuck???

Matt Dekker

the sparks hate is bc Scott Aukerman is in their documentary, its classic pod on pod warfare

Alexander Connolly

Finally catching up with this episode, and the ads are killing me. Any way to kill the ads for Patreon subscribers? There’s one like every 5 minutes.

Randy Faucheux

Central Oregon camping is great, it;s my hometown area. Surprised anyone can still camp out there still, damn fires and heat wrecking everything :/

Timothy Mclean

did vic say a single word??

Ronan Dempsey

The entire history of the universe led up to that girl getting to meet Michael McDonald and I think that's just beautiful

Josh Heiss

Just stopping by again to say how damn funny this ep was. It’s always the guests they know well that create the best vibe, esp when it’s people I already love as entertainers.

Christian

Opinions are opioids for the masses

Dylan Murray

"In an interview with director Mary Harron, she recalled that one day Bale phoned her and said he had found inspiration for American Psycho from watching Tom Cruise during a David Letterman interview. Harron described Cruise as having this "very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes" and that Bale was really taken aback by his energy. He thought it would naturally fit into the unnatural business world of American Psycho, which it certainly did." https://youtu.be/Ecwh7g5GnP0?si=MlMmFrf-fs7PQHbf

The part I found weird about the CBS piece is that they cut out the part where she talks to him face to face outside his bus after the concert. I guess to make the CBS zoom surprise seem more special? Other than that it’s adorable and seems genuine.

Lots of real laughs, real laughs like Nathan Fields / Tim Robinson laughs. All three of them were smashing it and with such quick precision.Like they fed off each other without being competitive and weird about it. Also cool that Moshe is sober and is able to do Burning Man. That's not common, and it's good to see people in recovery with that sort of strength. Oh and Vic really brought the Berger with the Tom clip - it's like this secret inner-Vic lets it all out with those vids. If I met Vic, I'd never think that he casually makes this stuff. There was an Ozempic quip that bugged me a bit at first, but it was just some classic ribbing and this is Tim #4 or something. I'm going to try and count the Tims: 1) Stand Up Pleather Tim who has bad luck with a few things, but he means well and cares about God's America. 2) Real Tim: a very polite sweetheart who is a brilliant businessman /musician /actor /dad /host /advocate (I know, I know, it's true tho). Next up, you got.. 3) On Cinema Tim - when the rest of the world catches up, and the #2 & #1 Tim's are as dead as doornails, OC will be studied and a whole generation of new alt Anti-AI comics who will be inspired to do good stuff in the same way Mr. Show showed him a way to do it right. Plus Gregg, he has at least 3 that I'm aware of. Well, 2 Greggs technically. 4) OHL Tim, who is maybe my favorite, but I don't know real Tim - he was great when I met him, and Abso Lutely takes risks, but we've spent hundreds of hours with this wiseguy. He's in and out of bits that intentionally make him seem cruel, which he has to remind the audience of, because it's subtle and consistent. Lots of Stern/Hamburger/Wareheim/classic 90's prank tapes shaped this Tim, I believe. 5) Then there's T&E Tim. The first one I met (pretty much Cat Film You get it. It's a worship post and I hope I get to see Tim #20 in my lifetime. This is a 'comment blog' at this point: annoyingly long blog-style comments. It's a Clog, and I'm letting it flow. The intermission: I think we have another L. Ron Hubbard hit on the 'dar. Had to be Doug on both of those tracks. Great intermission set. The math/football tune was hard to pin down until I realized the song was for kids. If not, God bless 'em. Matt needs a 'Time's Up' buzzer that takes precedence over whatever rabbit hole they're exploring. He would have used it on me before paragraph 2.

You paid to see Sparks six years ago knowing nothing about them other the name!?!? This stinks of someone that only heard of (went to see a) band because of a documentary. That’s like going to see Baby Driver solely b/c your girlfriend told you Hot Fuzz was good and declaring all of Edgar Wrights movies suck because Baby Driver sucks (it does).

Francisco Ferreiro

That joke was cosmic tier

Biannual Beats

🤣

Biannual Beats

Matt is usually right about most things but he was so WRONG about the puff piece. It was fun and innocent, that girl is going to grow up with killer taste in tunes 🤘

Biannual Beats

I agree - I liked it too

Phil Braun

Certainly not “demented”

Daniel Miller

100% think the puff piece was cute.

Lyndon Beckner

A+ episode, you guys are all hilarious

Sam Stringer

Moshe was on fire.. like a burning man, if you will

Jon Smith

That Cruise ad was brilliant

Calum Alexander

The football song is amazing

S. Walker

Holy shit this episode is so funny!

Calum Alexander

there is zero chance that cool kid gives a shit about any of the brothers doobie

Mig

New show concept. ""A minute with tim heidecker" tim interviews guests for a minute . It could be his comedians in the car getting coffee.

Nick Grant

The shows have been amazing lately— this one is really a highlight. Such a great funny episode.

Ragle Gumm

It’s the one where he gets the giggles it’s unnerving

hayley deherrera

Christian Bale is on record saying one of Tom cruises letterman interviews from the 90s was his inspiration for American Psycho 😂

hayley deherrera

“Tim’s on special ozempic“☠️ Doug was on fire today

Christian

Damn Tim, I love ya.. but respectfully, keep your poor opinion of Sparks to yourself✌❤

Old James

Sparks stinks. I saw them live about five or six years ago without knowing anything beyond the band name and left thinking "Everyone gets old. Maybe they were better in their prime?". Then I watched the documentary after hearing all the hype during its PR cycle and came away even less impressed. They seem nice enough, but I think maybe they never hit it big for a reason. Their musical reach exceeds their grasp, in my opinion.

Maclaine

Doug and Vic were in rare form on this one, love it whenever the guests are into the drops and they bring the heat

Andrew Climbing

I'm going to call in to discuss Green Day next week

alex

Classic episode! Had me in stitches. Natasha and Moche are great guests. Also, I’m on Team Tim with the Michael McDonald puff piece controversy. It’s mundane and extremely common on evening news. Definition of nothing to see here. Matt and Vic - love ya but calm down.

Mattc83

How dare these people bad mouth Dylan 😤

Dan

Matt is heartless for hating the Michael McDonald story. I teared up a little. Amazing transition from the kid to go from crying to the immediate "Is Christopher Cross your best friend?"

Ryan Lucht

He was seething!

Grant Peterson

Vic hit another home run with the Tim Cruise vid

Grant Peterson

my son grew up loving steely dan.

Tim Brooks

I thought the Michael McDonald fan segment was very sweet. Cynicism is the rot of our society and we should let people enjoy what they enjoy (except Sparks. We can all agree on that)

Goose

Neil Breen reference oh my god.

Lyndon Beckner

I'd be ecstatic if my kid loved Michael McDonald!

Darell Cowlishaw

Call in again to complain about it!

Tim Heidecker

I called into the secrets hotline last year to confess the fact I pee in sinks and they didn’t air it. If they’re so hard up for calls they’re plugging it on this show then maybe just air my call!!!!

Francisco Ferreiro

that was hilarious.

Tim Brooks

Although Kasher's line: "He's not at the top of his game, he's at the bottom of his life"... had to laugh at that one.

Strerve McAlvoy

Someone should come on the show to have bad or at least controversial Bob Dylan opinions every week, just to get Tim riled up.

Strerve McAlvoy

i was driving and didn’t get home until it was too late, but was going to try to get on zoom to get tickets to the newport, ky, show.
