Matador!

Hey Friends! I'm writing to you from LITTLE ITALY IN NEW YORK CITY, Yep, back in the big apple for a small movie... it's a documentary about Pavement that features some fun reenactments - where me, Jason Schwartzman play the founders of Matador Records and a cast of young and handsome actors play the band... so far it's pretty fun. we're shooting at the Matador records office so Jason and I are geeking out a bit... 

Can't tell you how meaningful Matador Records was for me, for a short period of time. In High School,  I had felt alienated by most modern music... pop music I couldn't be bothered with, but I didn't connect with the punk/hardcore scene either, or even the grunge scene. I was kinda into some the hippy jam bands for a second, but I never went all in... Then I heard Crooked Rain/Crooked Rain from Pavement... I was hooked and started to find other Matador bands I dug,  including The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Guided By Voices and Yo La Tengo. In fact,  the guy I'm played in the movie gets a shoutout on the JSBX Record "Orange" - Gerard Cosley... So he's like a mythical figure to me. 

Feeling pretty good since leaving twitter. I instinctively have gone to the twitter tab more than a few times, discovering it's not there anymore. I suppose it would have been fun to be on there when the indictment came down, but I was in my hotel, the only place I ever watch cable news and got my fair dose of coverage and analysis.  

I've also been loving building this Discord server... please join us if you haven't already. i know it's a little daunting at first, but i see a lot of potential...  I'd like to integrate it more into the Patreon, but it's already tied to the Office Hours Discord, so I'd make sure to be signed in to both of those and possibly will start doing some patrons only discord stuff. I really liked their Stage feature which is a bit like Zoom, but I think a little smoother? 

That picture of the boxes in the toilet room is a top 10 funny Trump pic. Just the stupidest shit you could never make up. The picture I posted on Instagram had the CHANDELIER cropped out! Ooops. 

I'm also fascinated by this poor sap... NAUTA good day for him, eh???? :)

Anyway, i'm enjoying a very pretty and smoke free weekend here in the big apple and I think I'll go out and find myself a slice now.
