You Name The Title Of This Blog Post

I don't have one.

Good morning everyone, I hope you are well! What a fun show! Nice to be back and see you all, and just keep it loose!

Still easing back into life after a week of jet lag and the post tour blues. Suddenly going from moving all the time, and almost constantly encountering new things to being home and quiet and familiar can be a little jarring and unsettling. Our sound guy Matt made that point about tour, especially when you're in a foreign land - every second you're just dealing with new things - new hotel rooms, new food to be eaten, new people to talk to... all different, similar but just different enough - say the door to your hotel bathroom has a little lip at the bottom that you've never experienced before and your big toe doesn't know it's there.  Often it's a great, enriching new experience, but just as often it's a "shit, i stubbed my toe, or how the hell do you turn off the lights" kind of new.

Speaking of Matt, when we're soundchecking, Matt will often record us jamming, stumbling though covers or just goofing around.  Sounchecking is primarily for us to get our monitors where we like them and maybe run through something that wasn't working the night before, but it usually devolves into just playing around. I usually last for about 30 minutes but the rest of the band stay up there and jam out - making some truly beautiful music - sometimes, trippy, jazzy, droney, vibed out... It's always cool to hear as I retreat to get a little relaxing in.

In Oslo I was sitting at the keyboard and found a setting on the Nord that I had programmed for a potential Rock and Roll Gary featured song, that I eventually cut.  But I started playing it and everyone joined in. It's rough and stupid, but i think you can hear how much joy we all get from just playing together.  Here's a link to it!

Anyway I won't be home too long as the Summer Tour is just around the bend - Catch us where you can!

Here's another thing you probably caught yesterday but maybe you didn't. I was lying in bed on my laptop when I got a call from a 1-800 number - I almost always decline those calls but for some reason i picked up, feeling a creative spark to record a prank. I think I got a good, simple one and it's nice to be back in the game.

That is all, how was your week?

Peace and Love, Tim
