Wet

good morning from a very rainy Glendale. Yow, it's pouring and has been since yesterday morning. just notstop cold rain. We have a few small leaks that always show up when it rains like this... not calling a roofer today.  We are grateful for the rain, but you know what sucks? we still are terrible about retaining it! Most of the rain flowing down the LA River just dumps out into The Ocean. They Ocean doesn't need it! But the mountains are getting snow, so I guess that's good.  

The Ocean. That's a weird word. I'm looking at it like, is that how its spelled? The Ocean? Fucking weird. 

Fun show! Jamie is a great hang. I feel like we didn't even scratch the surface of her big MENSA brain. Will get her back on! 

Spent the week listening to, mixin' and fixin' the record we made last week.  Still lots to do. I'm going back in to redo one song that i wasn't feeling we nailed tomorrow.  I'm in no rush with this record and want to get it as right as I possibly can.  You can go crazy mixing.  Listening to a song over and over again, you start to hate it and start meddling with it and it can be a dangerous game.  I'm also writing a little reading companion to go with the record. Not sure what shape it's gonna take, but it's very fun to write and is acting like a little memoir of the summer tour and the writing and recording process. 

Did you pre-order Live in Boulder yet? I'm so excited to release an actual live record from the Two Tims tour. I think the record does a good job of capturing the energy in the room that night. Lots of highlights. The band was cooking, the sound was good! if you missed the tour, you can put it on, close your eyes, and you're there!

Just wait for our friend Ms. Warwick to come in. Seriously that is some of the worst autotune i've ever heard! Did she send in a voice memo of her part and some engineer just slapped on the pre-set free autotune plugin? or worse, do they think this is a MODERN SOUND?  I hate it. Can we get the stems and work on it?  Of course, Dolly sounds incredible. What a voice.

I was watching an Art Garfunkel interview the other day and got the idea that you could just take the audio and slap on some plate reverb and get more of this kind of stuff! We were texting about it and I think we're going to make a full ambient Art record using clips of him talking. Relaxing With Art. For your sleep.  Will be a Patreon Perk when we get it sorted out!
