Something looser about it - I think we're moving away from having two guests which leaves us more time to hang, goof around and explore and take some more calls. Less stress on booking and overall a more good time! I think I lost my train of thought during the show when I said "you know what record I've been listening to..." and the answer is: "Odessey and Oracle" by the Zombies! What a gem that is! THIS WILL BE OUR YEAR! They should have played that on New Year's Eve instead of "Imagine"
Also listening to the latest Bob Dylan Bootleg series, "Fragments" a massive collection of outtakes and remixes from "Time Out Of Mind" - one of his many "comeback albums" - There are some total stone cold classics on that record: "Not Dark Yet" "Standing In The Doorway" - my God, "Make You Feel My Love" - holy shit. It's inspiring to listen to the second disc and hear how these songs take shape. They often start VERY different which reminds me that songs are so elastic and, a lot like writing anything, it's not done until it's done, and often a song is more about it's arrangement and performance than the words and chords.
I still prefer "Love & Theft" from this era though!
The internet is abuzz with a pic I posted of Eric and I having lunch.

We met at Pie N' Burger, a CLASSIC Pasadena burger joint that's just perfect (although they could have salted the fries a little more.) Perhaps one of the best slices of pecan pie I ever had came right after the main course.
I look a little weird, because despite a shower, I still have product in my hair from the shoot I was on the day before - last day of shooting Killing It S2! Another fun experience where I got to be vile and deranged and I hope it all cuts together nicely.
Yea, we've been working on this movie idea for a while now, taking swings at it and now finally writing it. Won't say more than that right now, except, who knows where it will go - but it's fun to write and talk about it - Always a challenge to think about what have we done, what haven't we done? what can we do better, how can we grow and expand yet remain true to what we do!
My wife and I have been enjoying this show "Slow Horses" on Apple TV - really well done British spy series. Gary Oldman is this sleazy, washed up, disgraced MI5 agent - smokin', drinkin' and fartin' around an unending volley of well written insults and put downs. It's a fun one!
Also spending some time with the new Hardcore History from Dan Carlin - about the Vikings. Was listening to it and my friend reminded me that it's acutally a sequel to another one of his called "Thor's Angels" which you can find on streaming services (not the podcast for some reason) and so now I'm going back to listen to that... It's a bit more interesting than what I was listening to...because it sets up the emergence of the Vikings through the introduction of the Germanic tribes of Barbarians that the Roman Empire had to deal with - A cool Dan Carlin factoid that really made me think was this: If you took the Roman Empire's Military in the year 1AD, with all their advanced technology, tactics, organization etc, and transplanted them 1000 years into the future - ONE THOUSAND YEARS... to the year 1000AD - they would most likely mop the floor with whatever military they found there. That says a lot about how advanced they were and perhaps even more about how slow technology and civilization evolved.
Had an Oscar Special stress dream last night - The tech was working great, but we were unprepared with material and were just playing clips and waiting around and I had this sinking feeling that things weren't working. Yuck! Have no fear Tim, we have a lot of ideas and are working every day to figure out how to make it all happen.
That's all I have for you this morning. I hope you have a great weekend!
