A Very Bad Day

My goodness what a day that was. After the show, which started very hard and emotional, turned into a very healing and fun few hours with my friends and new friend Atsuko,  I went up to do a covid test for my work on "Killing It" the next day. Well wasn't I just thrilled to see it turn up POSITIVE!

FUCK! I wasn't feeling sick and don't think I had been all week, except for some general stress exhaustion from the whole situation... The Covid people sent me two more tests and one came back POS and the other one came back NEG.  Needless to say, my scene got pushed but was asked to come in bright and early the next day to do a lab test (which also came back positive by the end of the day, but i did a home rapid test last night which was Negative and I continue to feel no symptoms.) Their policy though makes it so I can't work with them again for 5 days after a Positive test so ANOTHER day of shooting I had scheduled will be pushed as well. I felt terrible for how annoying it all must be for the hard working producers and coordinators who have to manage to put together a working schedule - the shoot I was supposed to be on Friday had already been rescheduled due to the massive rains we had earlier in the week!

Then, later on Thursday, a big commercial job Eric and I were starting to prep for was suddenly cancelled - turned out the concept for the spot had just been done by another company and they decided to just kill the whole thing.  Really sucked, as we had already put work into it, and was very much excited to start the year off with some work. Seemed like a bit of weird universe stuff that the pushed dates of "Killing It" would have been a scheduling mess for the commercial coming up, so it did relieve some stress there but still... bummer.  After that, I isolated myself in the guest house and popped on Star Trek III, which was a wonderful salve.

                          "KLINGON BASTARD KILLED MY SON!"

The only positive moment from the week (aside from discovering Nick Adam's M&Ms boycott in real time on the show) was meeting up with The Very Good Band Wednesday night to run some songs and test out Catfish's studio, which was awesome and we're going to start recording there in February for a new record! I got songs galore, and this band is gonna make them great!  It was great to hang with them and talk about everything and get their feedback and support. As I've said, The Very Good Band are very good people!

I'm so grateful to have so many great friends and family who have all been so thoughtful and supportive during all this. Rough week, but it's all gonna work out and I gotta keep on focusing on the good stuff.... Oscar Special is 2 months out and then I get to go to the UK and Europe to do my thing with my friends! Blessed, indeed.

Last night, this came up in my feed. And boy did I laugh. Remember how great ONN was? What a gift.

OK, everyone enjoy your weekend!

Peace & Love,

I just picked up that new McCartney biography and it’s really pretty good, check it out, it would make for a great quarantine read.
