Back Home!

My last post detailed a little more about our living situation and how nice and easy everything was... It never really let up. I had so much fun and was just filled with relief and satisfaction, as every night clicked in to a packed house with wonderful people having a great time all the way through the show!
And our Matinee show was really fun too! I was a little worn out and worried about hanging onto my voice but thankfully we had Doug and Vic and Matt behind me to keep things fun and funny and a whole slate of great guests and good callers. And Loudon was such a treat - I admit I had a blind spot for him, and didn't know what to expect, but he was as kind and funny and easy backstage as he was onstage... and I ended up really liking him.
And nice to meet some of you! Sorry if I'm not more available after the show, or seem out of it - i'm usually pretty exhausted after the show and also trying to rest my voice... but the folks I did meet were all kind and respectful --- one thing our merch people always say is just how nice and cool all the audiences are - and that fills me with warm pride.
On the way to the venue Friday night, a full downpour hit me - It started raining HARD - Folks, I was SOAKED (nice reference for folks who's seen the live show the past few weeks) - within seconds I was drenched from head to toe - but it was warm out and I was only going a few blocks - plus, I knew at the venue there were towels, my robe, and a full change of clothes waiting for me, so I just soaked it in. kinda great!
Yep, so I'm home now - after a long day of travel I walked head on into Millie's big birthday slumber party, so I've been helping out, making pancakes this morning and hiding out in the bedroom when I can. Thank God I have one more show to look forward to in less than two weeks at the beautiful El Rey Theater in LA. We're already talking about more shows next year - The band is ITCHY to get those on the books.
See you this week. We have a MAJOR Friday show planned. Hooo Boy will you be in Heaven.
