Me? The Disease???
Added 2022-07-02 15:57:42 +0000 UTCgood morning! Can you believe it? The Disease? Sonofabitch.
The good news is, I'm feeling ok. Minor cold symptoms, perhaps a little more tired than usual... the course of events: Tuesday, I had two things planned for the evening... an appearance on Tom Scharpling's Best Show, and then to pop in on a birthday party at the director of Spin Me Round, the Italian movie I did last summer. I was set to be a bit of a cast reunion, so I was happy to see some old friends... Jeff is pretty strict about covid so he asked me to test before coming. I pulled a Negative hours before heading out.
The night was fun and I had a few glasses of wine, and as I headed home, i felt a slight cough. The next morning, the cough was still there, but i attributed it to staying out too late and talking too much. I had to take the wife and kids to the airport - they were headed to Canada for the long weekend to see my wife's family at her dad's cabin way up north of Kamloops. It was to be a nice little bit of focus time for me to rehearse for the tour starting next week! Later in the day, my cough persisted and Gregg, Eric and Katie were due to come over to talk some Season 13 planning (oh yes) and about an hour before their arrival I thought, I better test again, also there was Office Hours the next day.
Shock and horror as the blue line began to materialize! Me? Positive? It's can't be! I Gregg, Eric and Katie were immediately notified. Stay away! JP, my tour manager was next - Fuck. Matt and the boys- It was all crashing in at once. Do we cancel Office Hours? What about the shows next week? Luckily I am surrounded by calm professional and kind people.... truly, the friends who have come along to help me do my things really are some of the best people I know. Just smart, caring, reasonable people who work hard and often do the very most annoying things to get my various projects to you.
Of course we've all come to accept this as the new reality. We can all swing with it. First and foremost, I was ok, not in desperate need of medical attention. Then we figured out we'd do office hours and set me up in the guest room. Next we decided it was smart to just cancel the first two shows to create the appropriate time between testing positive and getting back to work. This was not the end of the world, and perhaps a blessing to have it come for me now, rather than in 2 weeks out there in the middle of a run of big shows. Still, not ideal and far from normal. Damnit.
My friend Jeff, was also informed and let everyone at the party know. Great. He also passed along a big list of supplements recommended for covid.

Who knows if any of this stuff does any good, but I don't think it can hurt!
Last night we had a band practice with the Very Good Band (with me joining via Facetime to observe and answer and questions) Let me tell you: THIS. BAND. COOKS. Holy shit they were so good. Just right off the bat, did their homework and are adding all sorts of nice little touches. Wait till you see this band!
Anyway, I'm just resting, watching baseball and rewatching the HBO John Adams series (why? it's very soothing) enjoying all the nice reactions coming in from High School... and I tell you what, I'll be right as rain and ready to roll by Thursday!
I hope you're all well and stay safe!

So glad you recovered quickly, Tim. Enjoy the tour! Last week I made the mistake of introducing my 4 young grandchildren to the I Jammer ad… They loved it. For the entire week, before each meal, they stated with attitude, “I don’t need your ____________, I’ve got O Hungee!”. Live and learn.
