What's There To Say?

Sorry folks I don't really have much today.  I'm very angry and disheartened by the school shooting this week. as I know many of you are. I've been engaging (too much) online with "the other side" and it all seems a bit hopeless to reason with these folks. You have the worms at the top (Cruz, Trump et al,) we have now engrainted themselves so deeply into the far right that there's absolutely no where for them to go  except into the deranged "hardened schools" or "arm everyone"  corner of the conversation.    They are where they are for deeply cynical reasons: power, money, ego, greed... all the good stuff.  And then you have their cable news repeating their talking points which filters down to the rando twitter nuts who now magically have thrown the cops under the bus (justified but extremely.... rich)  and now the only solution is to put a gun in everyone's pocket and lock the kids in.  in short: it's bananas.

No talk of how to pay for it, no talk of if the teachers, school administrators want it, just fucking lip service to get them through the news cycle.  There are mounds of proposals to limit access to these weapons and their ammunition.  It's such a bald lie that Ted Cruz tells that nothing proposed would have prevented the killing. It's an unknowable claim, obviously, you can get anything if you want it bad enough, but I think it's reasonable to think that maybe there could have been some kind of intervention along the way if the shooter had to take great pains to finding his weapons of war.

But you know all this. You are well versed in this topic. You know what should be done and you know why it's not getting done. If you don't , you could pretty quickly read a few articles on it. So what's there to say?  For me,  I just know: Ted Cruz (and when I say Ted Cruz,  he's standing out at the moment, but let's just say: Any US Senator who refuses to take up sensible gun legislation... i mean Ted Cruz is so loathsome, can we talk about what a sick, slimey, rat this worm is?)  ahem...

Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, assorted GOP Senators, Wayne LaPierre, Assorted NRA Members et al, have become the enemy of the people. They are the enemies of my family and my community. They are actively and willingingly making life more dangerous for me and my loved ones.  I think that's all we can really say right now. These people have become our enemies and we can offer them no quarter for the rest of their days.

I honestly spent the weekend looking into moving out of the country. What is even more perplexing than their views and stance is that they have a following. That makes me sad and frustrated and want to be somewhere else.
