You Too?

Good morning everyone!  Oof my back!  It's much better than it was on Wednesday when I  had to crawl myself around the house, but it's still tender and will take a bit of time to fully heal... which sucks!  I have a low tolerance for pain and it bums me out to have to deal with it. I'm doing the ice and the advil and the cbd rubs and all that, but it really just takes time and rest. FUCK! i don't have time for that shit! 

anyhoo! What a fun show, despite! OF COURSE Lyonne is gonna fit in like a glove with the office hours crew. of course.  and Jay really killed me. That went just as I imagined it.  Pat Finnerty was a gem as well... always a little tough with the zoom and lots of people chiming in but I really love his youtube show and definitely want to get him back! 

So, do I like U2? They're not the worst!  I don't really listen to much but when i was in high school I really loved Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby and even Zooropa (I think Pop was like a tag along to Zooropa maybe?)  i think they lost me with that "Beautiful Day" shit - that didn't feel right for whatever reason and then that was it! No going back after "Beautiful Day." why is that song so annoying. It was EVERYWHERE when it came out. What U2 do I like? Ya know what's good?

I also like pretty much all of Joshua Tree but especially "Running To Stand Still"

I like the ballads! I don't wanna hear Bono rock. I want Bono to be sultry and sad.  I like Van Dieman's Land on Rattle and Hum! That fuckin Rattle and Hum record was everywhere when I was a kid.  They were so obnoxious... playing a rooftop concert and they have a song called "God Pt. 2" / Uhhh,  Beatles anyone? 

Achtung Baby was just fuckin cool. Berlin, Eno, Bowie vibes that I did not know anything about until they coopted it.  i'm listening back to it now and it's not really something I'd go back to honestly... i like the song "So Cruel" / good tune!  It's a sonically impressive record and It's cool they WENT THERE 

Of course Zooropa has Stay   and then we're done. 

But I like Stuck in a Moment!  ! I think that's the end of the line for me. I didn't do a deep dive after that so maybe there are some late era gems? lemme know. Don't expect a Joel Hoel level deep dive here folks. They're just not worth it.  But there's worse! 

OK now I gotta go ice this back! 

PS! Oscar Special is about a week away! It's gonna be a WILD one! we have tons of tricks up our sleeve and if all goes as planned it's gonna be one for the ages!  We've also really done a deep dive into the tech side to make sure we don't crash again. Brought in a real expert to get under the hood and we're using a new service that's pretty pricey but guaranteed to give us a smooth experience. I'm holding my breath but feeling like we're in good shape.
