The Panicky Guy

well! as we knew the rogabros got very upset at my rant. many thought it was "just sad" and "hard to watch." and "who is this guy?" and I know my rant was a little HYPERBOLIC.,.. of course you should not just BLINDLY do what people tell you to do and there's a fair amount of corruption and bad intel in ALL of our institutions but... well you know, you get it. I had one comment from a patron that did make some sense, that it's helpful to encourage people to understand the science because it actually helps make the argument FOR the vaccine and yea i get that... i'm trying to make sense of this lunatic.... aren't we already in very serious trouble? what possible effect does Joe Rogan actually have, except in the case of this public health stuff, just causing confusion? All Joe does is muddy the waters? I assume the "We" here is Bret and his gang of grifters who risk losing an outlet to sell their wares?

ANYWAY!!!
Otherwise (or ALSO) it was a really fun show in my opinion! I mentioned the Letterman book

which i just finished last night and it was so great. It really reminded me where some of my ideas of comedy came from - and Jason did a great job of framing the concepts in a way that made sense as to WHY they were funny. The whole notion of irony and a common understanding built on a generation of media consumers, about the way something SHOULD be sets the stage for creating a segment that is "bad" or "wrong" or "stupid..." what a joy it must have been to have that mindset and the money and resources of a major television network and relative popularity to back it all up. Unfortunately, Dave himself never seemed to enjoy much of it along the way... too consumed with his own insecurities, self loathing and peculiar personality traits... And he really didn't treat people all that well, including the whole sex at work with an intern thing which.... yikes. not good dave!! ) but as I read I kept looking up clips they referenced and this one in particular was so great. the whole saga of The Panicky Guy is so clever and funny and stupid in the best ways. I apologize in advance for sending you down the rabbit hole of these clips. But they really are special, and I'm so glad they've survived. By the way, anyone think of our own great Phil Braun when they watch Chris Elliott?
I had a nice chat with my boy Charlie about Martin Luther King this morning.
T: Do you know who Martin Luther King was, son?
C: Yes. he was a black man who was for Civil Rides.
T: Civil Rights.
C: He was shot... with a gun.
T: Yes. He was trying to help people because back then...
C: We have a Nerf gun.
T: Yes.

Peace and Love Friends! T

It's a dark world where Joe Rogan is the popular podcast and The Holy Trinity are put in the corner! You guys are funny AND informative, which can't be said about that "other" podcast show. Keep up the good work: I like having fun!
