It worked!

Hi friends! Thanks so much for all the kind words of support and especially the prayer chain. It worked! I got out of the hospital around 4pm PT (7pm ET) on New Year’s Eve and I’m currently feeling good with meds to treat the migraines.

The longerish version is I had a series of three insane migraines over two days (which I guess is classified as a cluster migraine), woke up with a pretty bad headache the third day, did a lot of googling, went to an urgent care and finally wound up in the ER. Ended up getting a series of tests, which seem to indicate the underlying condition is something rare-ish called RCVS - essentially a partial blockage in one of the arteries in the brain. Scary stuff! Luckily the underlying condition should clear up on its own.

The hospital visit was a frustrating two night/three day experience that I’m going to try to write about in more detail for those interested and to milk this for more sympathy/dopamine hits from all the parasocial friends I’ve made these past couple years doing this show. 🙃

But seriously folks I can’t thank you enough for your kind words. Really means a lot to me and the only thing that’s as much fun as actually making Office Hours happen is meeting people (like you!) who like to laugh and have fun!
