Killing Time in the Big EEEEZ
Added 2021-12-12 16:23:09 +0000 UTCHey friends! sorry i missed you yesterday. I had a head spinning travel day. I know how much you love when I bitch about the gritty details of my hollywood lifestyle - I was shooting in New Orleans last week... i guess I can say it's a new show for Peacock starring Craig Robinson and I have a recurring role that's pretty fun and I think it will be good... but it was one of those deals where I was shooting Tuesday and Friday so I had lots of time to just putz around... back to that in a sec - so we shot LATE on Friday, until 1:30am and I had the Saturday early morning flight back to LA because I had a show booked that night - so I get back to my hotel at 2am and had to get up at 4am to get to the airport for the 6am flight - back in my own bed by 9am and sorta just dazed all day - but had a good show last night - Sara Schaefer's Haha Hole which is really a quite unique show!! she is obsessed with building miniatures so she built a miniature doll house sorta comedy club and green room and put on a sorta puppet show mirroring our acts and somehow it all worked! If this sounds interesting to you Sara is on twitter at @saraschaefer1
So I had a few days in New Orleans and had a fine time, and got all sorts of good recommendations of where to eat but it's much more fun to do these things WITH PEOPLE! some jobs are great when your schedules all line up with your fellow actors but on this one, the people I know on the show are all working when I'm not and vice versa... so my time off is pretty lonely to be honest. I filled my days with some work stuff... meetings and some writing and business stuff but then there are just hours to fill... caught a few movies (in my hotel) but there are some hours to fill where I'd rather be with some friends than by myself. Don't get me wrong, I like a little alone time but...
One of the nights I had dinner alone at the bar of a nice place called Herbsaint and I was sitting there when a couple came in - It was pretty loud in there so I didn't pick up on it right away but soon I realized they were having an argument. I was trying to follow along with it but could only catch pieces... She seemed to be accusing of him of lying and possibly CHEATING on her with a "Casey" I could catch a phrase here and there: "you're a fucking liar" "well then you and me are done..." "you're so full of shit" "Well then, where we you?" Their food came and just sat there while their relationship was crumbling... I was dying for Peter Jackson's audio technology to separate out the ambience... after about 10 minutes of this, they hastily paide the bill and stumbled out - It appeared that they were both pretty hammered, and I hope they are both find peace and love and work through this difficult time.
And who did the gods replace the fighting couple with, only minutes later? Oh, just the one and only James Carville, complete in a baggy purple sweatshirt and baseball cap, sitting along and commanding a bourbon on ice... I had nothing to say to him ( and think he's a bit of a clown, legend that he is) so I didn't bother him and finished up and left.
So, now I'm home and rested and getting my energy back and focused on the BIG TOTALLY SECULAR NON DENOMINATIONAL HOLIDAY SPECIAL this thursday! Tickets are finally selling and it's gonna be a packed house with lots of fun surprises and will of course be streaming live so don't be afraid to zoom in and have your big face splattered on a giant screen in DTLA.
One more thing... enjoy this video đŹđŹđŹ
