Crab Salts

good morning everyone! A belated Happy Thanksgiving to you and I hope you all had a good one. I've become the turkey master of the house. I just don't miss. I do the turkey. I do the gravy and they are always RIGHT on the money. Producer Matt (who made a very good cornbread stuffing) can attest to that.

Well, it was a pretty fun week to be an Office Hour Head eh?  The marathon was so great - Doug and Vic held down the fort real nice, and while we didn't hit our 6000 goal we did pretty good and had a really great group of fun people stroll through our world for the day.

And then the Rogasode hits! It was fun to watch the live chat happening and seeing people absorbing what was happening in real time.

I had the idea for this a while back - maybe over the summer? I've been a fan of Rajat and Jeremy's videos on twitter for a while and knew they'd be the perfect match for this idea. They got it right away and we talked about having a wandering nonsense conversation that was above all else, BORING! which is I think what irks me MOST about Rogan.  Anyway, it took forever to find a time to do it, because R&J are in New York and we had to figure out a way to do it remotely. We finally got it all set and R&J sat in a studio in NY while I was in the Garage and we had eachother up on zoom and got into it - We went pretty much straight for about an hour and twenty minutes or so, aside from a few laughing breaks.  A few weeks later we get a rough cut, but there's some bad news: The audio on the R&J is awful.  Whoever was running the NY side FUCKED up. They had R&J's 2 mics both going straight into the camera and it was just all blown out. We tried to fix it and our good friend Chris Robison did his best but it was just not up to snuff. I was so mad.  I mean it was OK, just really crunchy.  and I felt like for this to work it just has to be pro. It can't be half ass. So we asked R&J if they'd be willing to try again... In all my years of making stuff, I think I've avoided a full tech disaster that required a full reshoot.  But... I was also excited to do it again, because we could treat the first run as a rehearsal and pick the best stuff from it and dial it in even more.  So... everything happens for a reason!

Anyway, aside from enjoying the great reaction it's getting, I'm also deeply in love with the new Beatles Get Back doc, obviously - It so astoundingly good. In chatting with my Beatle freak friends... the words we're tossing around: A Miracle, Stunning, Remarkable, Still Reeling... Shook... Tour De Force / It feels like something i'm going to go back to many times.  Eric N and I are going to try and go back to the Please Please Let It Be Format next week and have a nice long chat on it so I'll dig in deeper later, but I just gotta say I'm so damn pleased with it so far.

I'd love to see the original as a bonus.

This went right over my head but thank god, because the bit that I tuned in for had me going “what the fuck is up with Tim?”
