Recc Me

hello food fans!

wow, the live show is just days away!  i'm excited! WOW!

Dispiriting morning. I made crepes from this super easy and enjoyable Jacques Pepin recipe which came out great and my children met with total disgust. more for me!

As you know I contain multitudes. I was talking to my friend yesterday about the whole Facebook/VR thing and he pushed back a little, at least on the VR element. He got into it recently and enjoys it for a few things - he's an AVID Table Tennis player and i guess there's a game in there where he can play with his friends and it's pretty cool... especially during these COVID times. He also said it's actually a pretty cool way to watch a movie! that kind of interests me, just to experience that... so I ordered a set just to see - I don't think i'll want to have a lot of MEETINGS with my co-works as Pixar cartoons, but it did remind me that when I get very indignant and mad about something new, I should also take a breath and experience it first. Still, fuck the Zuck.

If you have VR experience, reccs let me know. also I need books, tv shows, movies, records. gimme what you loved this summer! What did you JUST get into?

See you tuesday!

Better late than never. Tex Crick - "Live in... New York City" sounds like a lost gem from the 70s. Beautiful and fun jazzy sounds from a young Australian artist. "Dawn Raid" - feel good documentary about a pioneering NZ hip hop label

Matt Vogels

Timmy, check out the album Colors by Ken Nordine. Pretty great spoken word/jazz album form the 60s… very catchy and humorous, probably some drops in there for the boys
