Camping and Getting Back To Work

Good morning everyone! Welcome new Patrons, to my Saturday morning blog, which I'm thinking might be a little thin today. i did a lot of sharing this week PUBLICLY and I always think, I should hold this for Saturday, but then i get itchy and wanna get stuff out ASAP!  You can tell right away from the title this is gonna be a #BadBlog

The big news last week was Covid stepping into our home every so gently.  Once we realized we couldn't go on our vacation, we knew we had to do SOMETHING. I looked up a few campsites and it seems risky to go to a crowded campground, and booking something last minute seemed impossible. by my friend hipped me to this site called hipcamp   / it's like an Airt BnB for campsite, mostly just on people's private property, I guess... but he had staying on this farm up on the central coast, just south of Morro Bay, which is about 3 hours away.  So we packed the minivan and went on our family's maiden camping voyage.

The camp site was... fine? It was just a plot of land they had carved  out up on a hill, which overlooked the bay about 8 miles away... it had a picnic table, a rope swing on a tree (which offered a good bit of shade... and a hill that the kids could climb and explore.

It was fun, and we learned a few things - like realizing you didn't HAVE to only eat hot dogs and beans.  The one bummer was, due to the high wildfire risk there's a strict NO FIRES Rule, which I totally get but... campfires are a real highlight of camping for me.

Many were asking in my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT Video "how Stoned IS he!?"  The truth is: I was! haha. I had take one hit of a joint and man... i have zero tolerance for the stuff. It really kicked in a little later when the stars came out... there was no moon, so it was, as the kids say, LIT... and I was lit... Whoa dude. check out those STAAARRRS man.  i suppose it was the "good stuff"

ANYWAY>>>>

Aside from that I got to spend a little time finishing up my new record, which was off getting mixed. Lemme tell ya... it was one of those things where it all came together just right in the end... It really needed a little love and care and dialing in for it all to work and boy does it work. I'm so happy with it. It sounds REALLY good, and not really like anything i've done before.  I pulled a cool more and took a good song, a really fun song, OFF the record because it didn't fit thematically and broke up the sequence...  That's a Bruce Springsteen move.  It will come out in some form, maybe as a single or something. I think the record won't come out until NEXT SPRING, due to long lead times for vinyl... but i imagine you all will get a chance to hear it all before that.

I also spent the week, as well as this week gearing up for On Cinema Season 12, which we're shooting in a few weeks. We had a pile of ideas and started dialing it in, shaping it, adding to it and tying it all together and... phew. There's A LOT going on. And I'm in that phase of creation where I'm thinking about it all the time.  I can start to see moments and jokes forming and visualizing it in the show. Its so fun... and you're gonna love it. And another cool part?  we're actually doing it with more money that Adult Swim ever gave us, thanks to The Hei Network!

I'm bugging Matt and Justin about getting some kind of TimPass so you can subscribe to one service and get Hei and Office Hours for a small discount... It's a little complicated... it would involve setting up a HEI Network style site for office hours so stuff could live off of Patreon, which we all agree is a good long term ideas anyway... but it's just gonna take some time.  Anyway, we know many of you would appreciate that and I just wanted to let you know it's on our agenda.

well, that turned out alright.

That's all for now my friends! Thanks for being out there and supporting what we do and making it all possible for us to make fun stuff!

PS! the Tiny Tim audio book is out! I think we're going to have the author on next week to chat TT but here's a link if you wanna check it out!

I’m glad T writes ‘anyway,’ as much as I do too. Anyway it was a great blog and love and health to the family and friends, to you all, each and everyone.

I already submitted my vote but I gotta mention that dude that was spinning around in that warehouse asking the spin related trivia.
