i forgot to post yesterday. the monday show really threw me off! When thursday came around I was CRAVING going live.

I hope you're all having a nice July 4th Weekend. We went to a little BBQ last night and someone had oversized sparklers - we lit one for the kids, about five 4 year olds and they all acted like the apes from 2001.... scared, fascinated, circling around the sparks, backing off and then gingerly holding it before passing it to another kid. it was so funny.

Good to have Fred back eh!?

I've been back at work on my new record which is finally coming together... If you recall, I had done a few weeks of work on it with Drew (from Fear of Death) and Mac DeMarco... We basically tracked everything, with some rough vocals from me, but everything needed work... more overdubs, more mixing and vocal harmonies etc... And then my label was like: you should talk to Eric Johnson (from the Fruit Bats) I've known Eric a long time... you can see him in awesome show when The Shins covered "Never Gonna Wipe My Butt) and we talked last week... he was like "I love this record! The songs are great and it's so personal... just send me all the stems (individual tracks) and I'll do a bunch of work on all of them... and he's diving in and sprinking little fairy dust all over it! and he' gonna sing a bunch of harmony on it too. I'm so happy. I think it's gonna turn out pretty good! A bunch of songs I've been writing, the theme of which is a tricky area: my own nostalgic memories of high school. Well, that's just a jumping off point I guess but its been interesting to think back to those days and use it for inspiration. I'll make sure you guys get a nice long lead listen before it comes out!

Ok u better get back to flipping those burgers on the grill my friend. see you next week! t
