On Cinema Real Talk

Seffffff!

Wow, well last night was fun! 4 hours felt like 4 minutes! Those relaxed evening shows are really where it's at and I'm gonna try to make sure we do more of those. why not? I think we all had a good time and what's more fun than having a good time?

Wanted to take a minute and let you know where we're at with new On Cinema:  We're forging ahead, trying to take things independent and set it up for maximum success and maintain the high quality and attention to detail, story and character.  It's one of the reasons we just didn't jump in and do a "zoom" version of the show or a half assed, "let's just do SOMETHING for the sake of doing something..."  one really fun thing we DID do was launch Heinetwork.tv and vfa.expert with the massive help from Patriot Justin Gaynor, which added a new storyline, and sorta accidentally created a potential real platform where future seasons of On Cinema may end up!

Rather than launching another Patreon,  we may end up just playing off the Hei Network's absurd pay tiers and making that real with some DRAMATIC price reductions, haha... The thinking is hopefully you'll pay a small price to watch an episode of on cinema, if we can make the platform easy to sign up for, and easy to use... so heinetwork.tv suddenly becomes a real, fleshed out home for the on cinema universe. it's certainly very possible and we're working on HOW that would work. It's exciting!

Our first step is to train our eyes on the upcoming Oscars and put together some kind of Oscar Special - It will not be the full big studio version of the show that you're used to  (Covid makes doing anything that's not BIG budget really difficult) but we have some really great ideas on how to do something really funny and fitting right into the ongoing story.... NO SPOILERS.

It will be scaled back, but it's still not something we can do for free... So in order to do THAT, we're doing a few things to raise funds...

in a few weeks we're going to be launching a new line of On Cinema merch right here: ON CINEMA STORE  we've got some killer items that unfortunately you will need to own... but right now you can order a Cameo style personalized message from Gregg, Joe, Axiom or Manuel...  Pretty neat! I'd do it, but you guys can talk to me every week on THIS show.

Secondly, and maybe more importantly: we're doing a live virtual screening of Mister America with a Q&A afterwards. We're scheduling it right around Prime Time in the UK, since it's been nearly impossible for people overseas to see the movie... but the movie and Q&A will be up and available to watch for 2 whole weeks!  So grab a ticket! or even better:  you can get a ticket AND A signed DVD (limited supply)

So, listen: If EVERY Patriot here bought a ticket to the screening we'd immediately have the 2021 Oscar Special funded... and would be well on our way to a 12th season of On Cinema coming to you by the fall.  It's as simple as that.  Wow.

Sorry if this all sounds like a desperate Trump Campaign email. I'm just laying down the facts for you. I really appreciate your support through this Patreon. It's been so fun to get to build the Office Hours community, and seeing many of you last night (especially that mom with her 3 kids) really touches us that you're out there enjoying what we do.

PS. I listened to Jake Longstreth's recommended "Skull and Roses" Live Dead record this morning and guess what? It sucks!  I retract my Deadhead status.... and will be forbidding Dead talk on the show for the foreseeable future!

PPS: GET THOSE TICKETS!  : )

Just watched the comedy special for the third time and I wanted to say, it’s amazing. It’s the only special I’ve watched more than once in the last 5 years.
