Let's Raise our Morning Coffee/Tea/Juice to Vic!

hey everyone! First off, thank you all for jumping on Fear of Death Pre-Orders... It kind of broke Spacebomb's brain how quickly that thing moved on the first day... The first batch has officially become of rare collector's item but there are other versions that are still available for now.  It'd be great and very helpful if you'd take a moment this weekend to push the music video out, post on social media, send to a friend, maybe call your local indie radio station... I can't wait for you to hear this record in full!

Thursday's show was another fun one for us... I was trying to get vic to cry the whole time and I think I broke him during weird al..  As I've said many times there are few people who can make me laugh harder than Vic. And while he'll admit that his style has been influenced by our work (DJ Douggpound for sure) He's managed to make a style all his own - He's able to drill down to the core about what is funny, dark, dangerous or ridiculous about some of our present day goblins - his edits do not just make me laugh, they shake my core and leave me breathless and tear strewn.

As the story goes, Vic came to my attention after posting a few On Cinema inspired music videos... original songs about me and Ayaka...  I loved that he was from my hometown and when we were prepping that year's Oscar Special, we reached out and asked him to edit a segment - This was, apparently a big deal for Vic, who really wasn't a professional editor and had made the music videos in iMovie or some such consumer editing software... But he recognized an opportunity, dug in and figured it out... As we got to know each other better he felt comfortable sending me rough cuts of little things he was playing around with and we would talk about them and I would offer notes and generally encourage him to keep making stuff.

In searching for our earliest correspondences this morning, I found an abandoned project we were working on... as you know I used to make a song as whichever artist was playing the Super Bowl Halftime Show and way back in 2014 it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers! I must have been uninspired or unable to dial in a Chili Peppers sound, so I reached out to Vic to see if he wanted to take a crack at it... He delivered! But, my friend Jon Daly beat me to the punch and released his own Chili Peppers Super Bowl song first. Vic's demo has languished in my emails for 6 years and now can be heard for the first time! It cooks!

Lastly: since this is the week of Vic, I asked him if he wouldn't mind checking the comments later and answering some of your questions... so below can be the unofficial AMA for Vic... He'll be logging on later to see what you've got for him.  Fire away!

PS. I will give Doug the same treatment when I find out when his birthday is...
