Weekly Digimon Comic: Digimon Tamers - page 24.75
Added 2025-06-07 20:04:12 +0000 UTCIt's funny. Like many people, I saw the Saban dub of Tamers first, and didn't get around to watching subs of the Japanese version until YEARS later. And yet, the second Tamers closing theme gives me a hit of nostalgia something fierce. Like, WAY more than any of the other Digimon songs (Even "Butterfly." Yeah, I said it.)
Granted, it helps that the song has such strong "2000s Closing Theme" energy in general that, even if I wasn't hearing it regularly during my formative weeb days, it still brings to mind a LOT of other songs that I did hear playing on Adult Swim every night. More importantly, at least for me, is the heavy "trying to sound like Oasis trying to sound like The Beatles" vibe, which is relevant to many of my interests. Combine that with the fact that it's a Japanese song from an anime, and you've more or less found the center of the venn diagram of everything High School/College Aged Me was listening to. The fact that it also happens to be Digimon-adjacent is just an added bonus.
