That's one of the other things that's struck me while going back to re-watch Tamers all the way through: these early episodes show JUST enough of the other kids in Takato's class that it seems like the seeds are being planted for them to become bigger characters down the line. And yeah, I guess THREE of them do, but then there's these other kids who just sort of evaporate in later arcs. I guess it's sort of a testament to the general quality of Tamers that I'm genuinely not sure if that's just a sign on some abandoned storylines, or a deliberate attempt to distract the audience with other characters in order to keep us from knowing who'll end up being important. That's a nice problem to have, honestly.
