Slimer is almost ready.
Added 2020-03-23 01:15:32 +0000 UTCWho is Slimer??? Besides ghostbusters this is my first adventure into a prusa with a Volcano and TMC5160 drivers.
I’ve used a volcano on my Hemera Sidewinder but only to print things with huge layers quickly. I also have a Mosquito Magnum BMG which does a smashing job but it’s time to try things seriously and see what they do.
The TMC5160 drivers are pretty neat. They are more on the cnc side to drive bigger motors but why not. I bought them a long long time ago and never used them so I soldered the pins on and got it running the first try.
I don’t expect any performance boosts but I do enjoy seeing what different things do so maybe there is a reason why these are so special even though I really love my 2209s.
I’m hoping to move the SKR project out of beta soon and lock the firmware down and variants so I can get back to the fun stuff like profiles and testing. Been updating firmware constantly and learning more and more Marlin goodness buy I’m ready to take mental break from that and test some new materials and nozzles.
