I mean, it'd have been even nicer if I was dropping this comic a little less than two weeks from now, and it'll seem REALLY out of date when this page goes out to the public next month, but just for now? Nice synchronicity!
Anyway, you can really tell we're hitting the show's climax now, because WOW the production values picked up again with this one. Ol' Pac Man up there might be the weirdest easter egg in the episode, but he's far from the only one. Somebody was really trying to squeeze as many random shout-outs into the background as possible. Just look at how many of those toys are real things!
Oh, and speaking of real things, YES I KNOW CHRISTMAS COMES TO PACLAND IS A THING.

Also, just realized I forgot to mention this in the commentary, but that chunk of Japanese I'm singing is the first few lines of "Christmas Eve" by Tatsuro Yamashita. The more you know.
