I know, I know, the whole first half of the episode is the conclusion to the fight that started in the previous episode. The thing is, I'm not just talking about the basic "But violence is really exciting to watch!" problem that so many anti-war works struggle with. I'm talking about the basic quality of the animation itself. For most of episode 23, and ESPECIALLY during the debate over whether or not to accept the defectors, this is another REALLY dodgy-looking episode with a lot of lousy art. But then, out of nowhere, the last few minutes inexplicably get a lot better, and that's where that final dogfight happens. Just by judging from the technical quality of the scenes in this episode, war looks WAY better than peace!
...but then, we've go something else to talk about soon that kinda throws that whole observation on it's head, don't we?
