Added 2023-06-21 04:28:13 +0000 UTCSo, I already brought up the screening of Manos on Saturday morning in the main comics, and mentioned in the commentary what a different experience it is to watch without any riffing to make it go down easier. I did NOT mention this aspect, however, despite it being just as powerful. You know that weird sensation when you hear a song you're familiar with from an album or playlist, and the song you instinctively expect to play next ISN'T what plays next? Imagine that for 75 minutes straight, except even worse, because the movie audio is still there as expected, just without the riffs. Maybe it's more like listening to just one side of a stereo mix of a song. I dunno, if I think too hard about this, that cartoon will start to look a bit too much like reality.
