Far Out There Christmas Character Soundtracks!

It’s been a while since I last did a Far Out There Character Soundtrack because, well, I’d frankly run out of Far Out There characters I could do soundtracks for. But OF COURSE I’d go and find a way to bring the idea back and have that idea be Christmas-related! I’ve often half-jokes about how much I wish there could be Far Out There Christmas specials, but I’d also love there to be Far Out There Christmas albums to go along with it. You know, have every member of the cast sing an assortment of familiar holiday favorites and at least one token new song, preferably to then be used as musical numbers in the Christmas specials? Obvious, I can’t make that happen right now, but I CAN at least repurpose my love of character-themed mix tapes for more holiday-themed purposes. And that’s just what I’m gonna do! At random intervals across the next month or so, I’ll be dropping short blogs with links to even shorter playlists of Christmas tunes themed to most of Far Out There’s biggest characters… or at least the ones I most felt like doing playlists for. In some cases, these mini-playlists will sound pretty much exactly like what you’d expect after hearing the character’s main soundtracks. Some of the others might surprise you, though. After all, one of my favorite things about Christmas music as a whole is the way is serves as a portal into whole other genres that you might normally never be exposed to. Why Not have a few characters reveal some new sides of themselves? It goes without saying that the subject matter is mostly out of my control, even more than usual, but I can at least be in charge of the tone of the music and what that says about the characters. Again, some of these choices might surprise a few people, but that’s just one of the many fun things about doing these kinds of blogs. So if you somehow aren’t already getting enough Christmas content from me this month, Far Out There or otherwise, keep checking back and let me cram even more jingle bell tunes down your gullet!

Oh, by the way, I must give advance warning that some of ya’ll out there MIGHT encounter some geo-restriction issues with some of these songs. I’m making these playlists on YouTube because, GENERALLY, that’s the easiest and most accessible, but there are a few instances where the only posting of a song I can find is one that’s blocked in certain corners of the world. It sucks, and I try to work around it as much as I can, but that’s the modern Internet for ya. And yes, in instances where there just isn’t an accessible version AT ALL, I’ve gone the extra mile and posted versions myself, but I’m only doing that when there’s literally no other choice. Ask any career YouTuber, and they’ll tell you that you do battle with the copyright bots at your own peril. Not even Christmas will drive me to fight that war if I don’t absolutely have to. But then, that’s one of the good things about having actual blogs here instead of just playlist links. Even if one of the videos won’t play, hopefully there’ll be enough info in the blog for you to do some copy/paste magic on the ol’ Google machine and find a copy of the song that WILL work. That’s the OTHER side of the modern Internet for ya!
