Weekly Anime Comics: Slayers Next - page 1

Look, I'll be honest with ya'll: I have seen Slayers Next before, but it's not a show I've revisited the way I do the first one, and watching the first episode again really reminded me why. I don't remember HATING the show or anything, but I absolutely do remember being a bit disappointed with the shift in tone. Then again, I also find that I DON'T remember all that much about the specifics of the plot later in the season, so I could just be allowing that first impression to cloud my hazy recollections of the rest of the show.
Either way, though, ya gotta admit that whoever was in charge of animating Martina... watched a lot of early Gainax, let's just say.
