Okay, so page 35 was rather obviously written up specifically to the "the first new page" and reference the lengthy hiatus. This page, on the other hand, was what was always supposed to go next... and it's been waiting a LOOONG time to actually be seen by anybody. The original penciled draft was sitting in a folder for so long that, when it finally came time to ink the thing, I had to actually re-draw it from scratch because the original's sheet was too messy and faded to be scan-able. And not even that, I wound up editing the inked version twice. Not because the original version turned out bad or because I lost the file or anything, I just straight-up FORGOT I'D ALREADY DONE IT. The original plan had just been to re-write the dialog on this to lampshade the hiatus, and I got as far as editing the art before realizing that this really demanded a whole fresh page. Between drawing that new one, re-editing whole batches of Far Out There and Conventional Wisdom to re-post on the new sites, and trying to sort out the OTHER stuff I want to start putting up here, that early work I'd done on this page completely slipped my mind. When I finally got around to doing the page for real, I just dove straight into editing the scan from scratch again like the first take didn't happen. It wasn't until I tried to save the new draft and the computer was all "Um, you know there's already a file called that, right?" that I realized what had happened.
See, stuff like this is shows you why everything went on hiatus in the first place.
