Added 2020-08-26 07:07:04 +0000 UTCDon't get me wrong, after how groggy I got on the drive back Saturday night, not even leaving Concord until around midnight would ABSOLUTELY have been the wrong move. I still stand by heading on home instead of doing a whole separate thing that night. But even knowing that, it's still hard not to look at how this year has shaped up and regret passing up an opportunity to gone to one more live event of ANY kind back in The Before Time. And heck, that's just looking at the whole Social Distancing thing in general, we haven't even gotten into what the wrestling industry specifically has gone through this year. From what I heard, the highlight of that show was Nick Aldis doing a run in to build hype for his match with Marty Scurll at The Crockett Cup. So this was a time when The Crockett Cup was still going to happen, when NWA Powerrr was still an active show, and when Marty Scurll was still a person anybody wanted to be publicly associated with. Truly a relic of a different time.
AND SPEAKING OF DIFFERENT TIMES, at long last, after me stretching this out as long as possible, I have finally, officially run out of convention material to do comics on. I mean, I can still keep making up ConCONcon comics for public consumption, but that's the last of the "based on real events" comics I had saved up. So now what? Well, I'd briefly considered trying to do extra ConCONcon stuff here, but I think it's best that I reserve that stuff for the actual site. Besides, I keep talking about needing to start doing different stuff with the Patreon, so let's actually make things different! As of right now, Conventional Wisdom Patreon comics are on hold, so that I can focus more on doing other stuff. Don't worry, the Patreon won't JUST be blogs, there's more comics coming, but I'm gonna try and use the current lack of conventions as an excuse to do some other stuff. Hopefully, by whenever I AM going to cons again, I'll have found a new schedule of posts that's actually sustainable. So keep an eye out in the coming weeks for some new stuff! ...and by "new" I mostly mean "bringing back some old stuff..."
