Conventional Wisdom: Konosuba - page 6

Is there any other medium that's ever had as hard a time figuring out the difference between being a satire of something and just being a really extreme example of that thing? "No, see, all these gratuitous moments of nudity are making FUN of gratuitous nudity!" and that sort of thing.
...buuuuuuuuuuut I kid Konosuba. While I don't think it's half as clever as it believes it's being with the fanservice, the fun it has with the Fantasy/RPG tropes actually do work pretty well. In fact, part of what I like about it actually IS the jumble of tropes played straight mixed in with the ones being played with. One of my pet peeves when it comes to comedy anime is bad pacing, I've seen a LOT of potentially funny gags ruined because the show dragged them out waaaaaay too long and killed the momentum. Konosuba's steady barrage of tropes averted, subverted, and played straight ensures that no one of them sits there long enough to really get old... unless the joke is "Hahahaha Kazuma's a perv" cos yeah, that gets pretty old.
EDIT: Actually, I take a bit of that back. I have one other pet peeve is comedy anime: that thing where somebody does something funny, and another character "reacts" by simply restating what the first character did just in case the audience is too dumb to get why it was funny. Yeah, Konosuba's VERY guilty of that one.
