So, yeah. After all my belly aching about burnout and lack of energy and all that, we FINALLY get some Anime Comics again... and it’s this randomness. Actually, that’s by design. I started to write a big, long explanation of how drawing a picture of a little girl’s ghost as a robot represented a shift in my creative approach and the way that fit into my overall quest to recharge my creative batteries, but I’ll save that noise for the next blog post. The short version is: I’m just gonna draw whatever silliness comes to mind for a while without thinking too hard about it. Will that result in much satirical deconstruction of anime trope or revealing autobiographical parallels between the source material and my own experiences? Probably not. But you know what? It wasn’t a lot of fun straining to do that every single time, and once upon a time this whole “drawing cartoons for The Internet” was actually supposed to be fun. So let’s have fun! Let’s draw the ghost of little girls as robots for absolutely no reason whatsoever! (that’s a sentence I didn’t expect to write today)
