The Doors/Iron Maiden *PREVIEW*

This definitely has some potential. Does anybody know where I can find some live footage of The Doors performing "LA Woman"? I can't find anything good!

Unfortunately, there is no live footage of the Doors performing anything from the L.A. Woman album. They finished recording it, essentially broke up, and Jim died 8 months later.

Zach Hilgefort

Yeah the maiden tune is a bit faster.

Bill McClintock

This is coming along very nicely. Sounds like you had to speed up LA Woman, but it works.

T.j. Swoboda

It IS good and kind of makes me thing iron maiden + doors = danzig?

Brian P

Right up my alley

Chemobob

I thought so too!

Bill McClintock

I wonder if there are any I haven't used yet... haha.

Bill McClintock

Parts of it definitely would.

Bill McClintock

Awesome

Bill McClintock

Thanks! I will look into it.

Bill McClintock

haha beautiful!

Bill McClintock

haha

Bill McClintock

Cool. Glad you like it.

Bill McClintock

This is great! That 'City at night' groove is sweet.

Nestico

HAHAHA MORE MAIDEN PLEASE <3

K-Man

Oh, hell yes!!!

AGDinCA

Congratulations... You made The Doors palatable!

Gray Ebbrell

Okay - my whole family is laughing and head-banging. MAKE THIS ONE!

Angus McMahan

This is Great! I agree about using glimpses of the TV show. I believe the more correct name was "Critique," a 1969 broadcast on New York's WNET-TV, later broadcast on NET (National Educational Television. There was no PBS yet at that time). It has been released legitimately, so it shouldn't be hard to find. Closest thing to L.A. Woman era footage I can think of.

William Shoemaker

Love it! So good!!!

Kenneth Seay

Your best bet might be some snippets from the Doors' 1969 PBS appearance. I think it's on the "Soundstage Performances" DVD. Uploads on YouTube aren't the best quality, but here's a sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzAjWW_keHc

Linda Craig

Yes πŸ™ŒπŸ» I feel like Highway Star somehow works with these too

Veronica Egan

Great so far, an EVH solo will fit right in.

Telecaster Jones

YEAH!!!! Excellent combo!! 🀘😁🀘

Grateful Driver

Thanks!

Bill McClintock

Excellent!

Debra McClintock

"SCREAM FOR ME!"

Tim Brown

That's awesome.

Louis Counter

use clips from the Oliver Stone movie, perhaps...unless that'd get you booted from YouTube again.

Matt Rose

This is going to be another banger.

Ricardo Perez

Good call.

Bill McClintock

Thanks!

Bill McClintock

Oh wow I didn't know that. Thanks!

Bill McClintock

Awesome!

Bill McClintock

Loving how this is turning out. Unfortunately, I think you may be out of luck on video footage of the Doors playing L.A. Woman specifically. Morrison took off for France right after they finished the album and the band never saw him again.

Linda Craig

Damn Bill, you hit it out of the park with this one!! As a huge fan of both bands I really dig the vibe. Looking forward to the finished version!

Joaquin Garcia

Forget the live version Bill. The studio version always works better!! But, this sounds EPIC!! PS...a cool title would be β€œ2 Minutes to LA”

DeathMetalTX77

Gotta add some good Bruce screams in there. Sounds great, though...good fun!

Matt Rose

Excellent

Bill McClintock

Good call

Bill McClintock

Came here to say the same thing!

David Cole

Haha

Bill McClintock

Cool. I think so too.

Bill McClintock

Sounds great!!!

Alberto Capraro

More gain on the guitar fills

Ray

Idk it would be kinda funny to use footage from the Val Killer movie for this πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Tommy Palladino

Wow! That works really well together. Another one where it could've been like this originally.
