Have you tried Demucs? ( https://github.com/facebookresearch/demucs ) I did and it really works.

Oh man, as an amateur parody make and audio nerd, I love seeing stuff like this. Thank you so much! Question: Is that a Mac/Pro Tools set up you're using?

I find pretty much everything on YouTube. Search for the song title and “vocals only“ or “instrumental.“ After I find something, I download it using an MP3 converter.

Where do you obtain the individual STEM files for these songs?

Well, I used to, but it quit working with my new computer and I haven't purchased an update yet. It was good for a lot of things, especially changing vocal harmonies.

Don't you use Melodyne Editor at all? It seems like the tool for the job of weeding out those horn notes you didn't want. But I guess I'm all the more impressed, if not!

I was super curious about the pre-chorus on this one. I spent ages trying to hum the vocals over Huey Lewis lol. And also about the resolution at the end of the chorus from F#m to E, where did it go? Ah now I see it is a few bars earlier plus we kinda get a bonus resolution. The key returns to E and then later the vocal hook resolves rhythmically on beat 4 (is that a thing? it sounds like it to me). Bill milked it. Makes me all warm a fuzzy.
