DM Stash Website Subscriptions and Migration + FAQ

Hey everyone,

Hope you've all had a Merry Christmas!

You may or may not have seen that we've recently launched a subscription platform on our website. The long short is that Patreon as a platform will no longer become viable for us in November 2025, so this is our way of getting things ready for that. We will still have MMF Tribes continuing as is, but unless Patreon reverts its planned changes, we won't have a way to operate on the platform as we do currently November next year.

As such, we've launched our own website subscription: dmstash.com/subscribe

If you already have an active (or inactive) subscription here on Patreon, moving over is actually extremely easy and won't cost you anything. In fact even if you're not subscribed anymore it will still migrate your month's of subscriptions into one neat place.

IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE MIGRATING:  

If you have only recently subscribed, or have made changes to your subscription (tier level, changed to annual, etc.) please wait at least 48 hours before you process your migration. Everything that happens below relies on us manually exporting data from Patreon to our website's back end regularly for subscription info to flow through.

If you migrate immediately after subscribing or making changes, it will result in an error as our website will be operating on old data. Similarly if it's the start of a new month, wait until the 2nd or 3rd before attempting migration.

How to Migrate

1. Make or login to your dmstash.com account - https://www.dmstash.com/my-account/

2. Add payment details for your subscription on the dmstash website via payment methods - https://www.dmstash.com/my-account/payment-methods/

3. Visit Migration Page https://www.dmstash.com/my-account/migrate/

4. Select what platform you are migrating from (you can do both platforms one after another if you had subscribed on both MMF and Patreon at any point)

5. Login to relevant platform, click allow for required permission.

6. Check the products to ensure all your releases will be there

7. Click Import Now

8. Cancel previous subscription on Patreon/MMF

Note: MMF subscriptions aren't working just yet for migration but will be good to go in a week or two. That means if you were subscribed over both platforms you should be able to import both subscription libraries.

Note that this tool doesn't migrate any outright purchases that were made on MMF. It's intended to migrate your subscription and associated months of loyalty.

Below is an FAQ based on questions we've received in the past about the website. If you have any others, feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll respond!

FAQ

Q: Will I retain my loyalty + rewards?

Yes. The migration tool will calculate any loyalty rewards you should be eligible for and migrate over your current loyalty tenure.

Q: I was subscribed on both MMF and Patreon, what do I do for my migration?

If you were subscribed over multiple platforms you can migrate both and your account on DM Stash will merge those together.

Q: I'm a current annual sub, can I still migrate?

Yes, and your remaining sub term should carry over to the DM Stash website as well.

Q: I was a Kickstarter Backer, does this migrate that?

Not currently. We've had a few people ask and if there's a large amount of demand we can look into it, but it is a pretty gargantuan task and took us months to get Patreon/MMF working.

Q: What features does your website have over Patreon/MMF?

Apart from being a generally smoother experience in terms of onboarding and downloading your library (at least compared to Patreon) we also have the option of pausing your subscription. Meaning you can skip a month if you don't vibe with it and come back the next month, without losing your loyalty tenure. You can do this pretty much indefinitely, just not more than two months in a row.

It has a very cohesive and well-structured tagging/filtering system to easily allow you to find minis you own and sort them by category: i.e. look at all Tiefling Rangers you own and then compare them to the ones you don't. Models can also be sorted by release, so you can look for a single mini from a pack you own if you've forgotten the name of it.

Q: Will your website subscription have exclusive models?

No. That's not something I want to, or ever will do. I find it very anticonsumer and unfair to our supporters. I'd rather have people move to the website of their own volition because they want to support us or prefer the user experience over there, instead of paywalling models behind a certain platform like I'm a video game publisher in 2014.

Q: Are you getting rid of MMF?

No. We will always keep MMF and Tribes up. We're only leaving Patreon because of their change in business practices that will not allow us to continue operating there. I can't see MMF ever making these changes themselves.

Q: Does your website subscription sync to my MMF library?

Not at this time. We generally want to keep the libraries separate and keep fulfilment on our own website. If there's a large amount of demand for it, we will look into it.
