Blue Dragons

There are not many places in the world that would naturally accommodate a creature that embodies lightning. Where its other chromatic counterparts have environs where they can settle down and build, blue dragons are expected to forge a path of their own in the world. This hardship causes blue dragons to develop an absolute vanity in their powers, they often believe that surviving in the world is an affront to the natural order of things and one of many examples of blue dragon superiority.

Younger blue dragons will live deep underground, burrowing out cave systems to serve as a makeshift lair. The young blue dragon will live a largely solitary life while it builds its strength and cultivates a hoard. Once it has reached adulthood and gained enough strength, the dragon will burst from the ground decimating whatever existed above its subterranean lair. This leaves the dragon a barren, desolate plain to begin building its empire upon.
