Mainsail Update 10-2024

This month has been quiet as I took a bit of time off. However, I was still able to work on a few projects.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to work on the new documentation, but I made progress on the milestone list and spent a lot of energy on the multi-upload with directories. This feature took longer than expected due to varying browser support, but I’m progressing step by step!

Two weeks ago, I took a short trip to London. (You can find some pictures on my Mastodon account: https://fosstodon.org/@meteyou )

I'm also building a BoxTurtle, an open-source Klipper AMS currently in BETA state. Here are two pictures showing the current build progress:

I finished assembling it this weekend, though the remaining wiring still needs to be done. I was surprised by how easy it was to build, and the well-designed printed parts were simple to print and assemble.

With the help of the BoxTurtle, I aim to improve Mainsail, especially in the area of multi-color/filament support. This project fascinates me since I don’t own a multi-color printer yet.

Over the next two months, my daily work schedule will be pretty busy, so I’ll likely only be able to work on Mainsail on weekends.
