Mainsail Update 12-2023
Added 2023-12-16 23:08:23 +0000 UTCToday, we reached 100.000 downloads of Mainsail v2.8.0, and on the same day, we finished the release v2.9.0. Unfortunately, this release was delayed a lot because there were some very big PRs to check, fix, and merge. Furthermore, there were also very test-intensive features.
The "Macro Prompts" feature was undoubtedly a significant and good milestone. I hope this feature will also be used a lot in the future.
Furthermore, a "Light Mode" was also contributed by inhabitworker. This PR needed a lot of minor fixes at the end to switch every single feature in Mainsail. But this also has an open task, and that is the editor. For this, the complete editor theme has to be adapted. But I hope to be able to do this in time to finalize this feature.
I also hope to have more time for the next month to work on really big (still open) features between the holidays. I also plan to directly integrate themes from communities (RatRig, Voron, VzBot, etc.) and our current sponsors (Biqu/BTT, Prusa Research & Multec) into Mainsail. Please let us know in the comments which community themes you want to see directly in Mainsail!
