This month, we released v2.8.0. In this release, some important features have been added. For example, the Spoolman support.
Since Raspberry released the bookworm image (earlier than expected), we are currently focusing on a new MainsailOS version to support it. Nowadays, however, the camera-streamer backend is still causing us problems since it is not compatible. KlipperScreen will also need a test and an update for it since raspberry pi has switched from X11 to Wayland.
At this point, I thank KwadFan and Mr. Yel again because they support this section so strongly!
I want to get back to the maintenance book feature. I wanted to integrate this in v2.7.0, but was unfortunately held up by other features/bugs. But this should now really be included in the next release.
Furthermore, I finished building my Voron Trident (LDO kit) this week, and it is now printing its first test print (as I write this Patreon post). This allows me to recreate/build more test hardware/scenarios to test Mainsail better. (if you have any questions about my printers or tests, please feel free to ask via the comment function here).
Next on my to-do list is a Linux/Debian repo to update the streamers/backends of Crowsnest easier/faster. Currently, it's about ustreamer and camera-streamer. This could be an utterly own repo or a joint one with Foosel (maintainer of Octoprint). She already has an existing one for camera-streamer, and to extend it and we both use the same one would save us both some work in maintenance.
Which current open FR would you like to see in the next mainsail version? (https://github.com/mainsail-crew/mainsail/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdated-desc+label%3A%22%F0%9F%92%A1+Type%3A+FR%22
Thank you for your time, and we will reread you on November 14.
Best regards,
