This is the episode where the show first got its hooks into me. The snow scene was the first one that had me tearing up as a painfully single gay guy (LOTS of that to follow.... I was inconsolable later on). And the scene at the end with Nick googling "Am I gay?" made me laugh because... I did exactly that 13 years ago. Three gay friends in their 30s said they did the same thing back then, so while I know it isn't EVERYONE'S experience.... it's spot on for a lot of us!

2023-06-06 14:07:53 +0000 UTCoh wow, I had no idea people were comparing this show with Bad Buddy! but I can definitely see it now that I think about it... at least, they both have rugby haha but I can say that when I watched My School President, it at times reminded me of Heartstopper. and now in retrospect I can say that I feel like all 3 of those shows have similar vibes at times, in more ways than just being the same genre or whatnot - which hopefully means you'll end up liking them all, Liam!

I relate to that scene so much because I went through that, not trusting anyone with these questions, I looked for answers on the internet. I wish shows like this one aired back then, the young generation now have no clue how lucky they are to have such good representation in medias. The friend groups are wholesome. Tao is a bit annoying with discouraging Charlie's crush but he doesn't mean it in a bad way. I still love him though. Tara and Darcy are so cute together and loved how they welcomed Elle in their inner circle. Nick and Charlie in the snow had to be one of my favourite scene in this episode and the season overall. It's so wholesome, cute, and beautifully filmed, with the comic snow falling from the sky. It's also one of my favourite scene in the comic. Loved your reaction to Tori saying "I don't think he's straight" XD She always pops up unexpected with her drink and one liners, love her! Teen Vogue actually made an article comparing Heartstopper and Bad Buddy. They even said that if you liked Heartstopper and missed the vibes, you should watch Bad Buddy next. So I love that you pointed out that you get Bad Buddy vibes watching this. There's also an edit of clips and parallels between the two shows. I'll link it when you've finished this season because of spoilers. If I remember well in the comics, Nick and Charlie were watching a Marvel movie (Nick loves Marvel in the comics) and Charlie not being too into it, feel asleep. It's been a while since I read it though so I could be wrong. The sparks effects when Nick's hand is getting closer to Charlie, such a good way to show what Nick feels, the tingling electric sensation of touching someone you might like. The title of the episode 'Cruch' really works for both Nick and Charlie. Charlie is very aware of his own feelings and maybe he's already feeling more than just a crush. As for Nick, he definitely shows all the signs of someone developping a crush. I can't wait for the next reaction :D
