Loved your reaction so much to the Angel reveal!!! That was both awesome and so funny how you scolded yourself for not figuring it out sooner XD This episode is one of my faves from s1, and I've watched it many times (had the earlier seasons on DVD because they sold it once a week with extra stuffs and that's when I really got into the show. First show I bought dvds for as well lol) This episode is so good and so many things from it come back throughout the seasons. I can't imagine how awful a vampire having a soul is... Not just because of all the deaths and destruction but he killed his own parents, their friends and their children. It's already awful when it's strangers but knowing the pain and suffering you caused to loved ones on top of that?! Just awful. Yes Buffy did invite him in when they ran from the Three, she says "come on, get in." which is enough of an invitation because it is spoken directly to him. Vampires can't go inside houses but they can go inside public places like the school for instance. But for a home, they need to be invited in by someone who lives there. Buffy also mentions she didn't do anything about the invitation after she found out he was a vampire, whiich implies there is a way to reverse it somehow. The last scene is so sad. Damn I remember how it made me cry the first time I watched it, and even now, after so long, it still hits... That was a great reaction. I also love that you'll buy the DVDs for the future seasons. The HD remaster really did mess up a lot... There's a whole video about it on youtube and man, I had not even realised how bad they did it until I watched that. Off to watch ep 8 reaction now :)

Right before they ran into the house she said "get in". I'm glad you got it right! It's a difficult concept to understand at the beginning. Angel restrains himself because he cares, but his natural impulses haven't disappeared. Just like an addict needs to keep their adiction under control forever, never completely getting over it. Which is something that makes his efforts remarkable, to be honest. RIP, Darla! Famous for being the character who spoke the very first sentence in the Buffyverse!! Thank you so much, Liam, I've been waiting for this reaction! ^^

2023-05-30 03:35:50 +0000 UTCThis personally I feel is one of the best eps of the season, a slower one but introduces concepts the series will reference throughout mainly the soul thing, Angel has a curse placed upon him forcing him to have a soul which is about one of the worse things a vampire can have because this means they care and have to live with themselves after all of the death and destruction they have caused in their lives its the ultimate punishment in this universe. I love how the Angel vampire thing wasn't spoiled for you because its a huge reveal that's so awesome to see first-timers see, back then was so big for people who watched and many people know this nowadays just due to the show being as old as it is and how much other vampire fiction took inspiration from this series..like how you said he Stefan 1.0 because he was really the basis of the bruiting, handsome vampire falling in love with a human. and I tell you when I first watched this series as a teen I ate this shit up haha Anywhooo this was just a very plot-heavy episode that truly does have an effect on the series going forward. Its really great!
