Some concepts for Aristotle's song! Gabe will be singing the demo, similar to Fantoccio's!

GAMEPLAY: Small spawned enemies start to fly at her quickly in time to the music, 8 at a time, then 2 more. If the player opens the umbrella in time to the music (BMP90) it will last long enough to not break or become ineffective. The player must successfully complete 4 rounds of this and then we can move on, otherwise the music loops until they beat 4 rounds (total).
NOTE: If the player just holds the shield it will deplete after 5 or 6 enemies break against it, and then Billie takes damage, so the player is required to TAP the button quickly in time to the music to make the shield mechanic last. Aristotle encourages and instructs the player depending on how they are doing
These flying enemies are made with Aristotle's magic, and represent music notes!
After this segment we have the dragon part of the tutorial! I am currently sculpting him

GAMEPLAY: The PLAYER has to time the shield not only to deflect the fireballs back at the DRAGON, but also to the music so it doesn’t get depleted too quickly and leave the PLAYER vulnerable. Maybe fireballs can still be avoided, but the depleted shield just makes it take a lot longer to beat the DRAGON. The TRAINING DRAGON is like a boss fight, with a health meter, and eventually is defeated if the PLAYER deflects enough fireballs back at it using the SHIELD
The dragon, like the kraken, will be reused later in the game in Dutch's level. So I'm putting extra effort into his model for his bigger role later on!
Here are some links to this example in practice, I will be toning down the effects, hence the flashing lights warning.

At the same time I am working on the transitions between these scenes

Instead of moving the player upwards/downwards, I'll be faking the movement by moving the environment around the player, giving the illusion of travel, without messing with the player physics and movement during the scene transitions.
Aristotle and Fantoccio have brand new blinking animations! We recently brought on a new 2D animator who will be handling the face animations going forward

We've also fully funded the Fantoccio plushies! So big big thank you! We should be able to fund another song with the money made, and hopefully do more plushies in the future. Nab one here, they're limited edition and will be unavailable to purchase after 20 days

That's it for this weeks update! But I've been able to catch up with work, and I'm really excited to share more with you soon ❤
