FREE ALBUM: "Songs Of Joy"

Coming from a gothic background, I often worry that too many of my songs are dark in theme. That if our most devoted fans listened to only Abney Park music, as many have told me they do, that I could negatively impact their emotions and pychesw, if I allowed my self to only write darker material.

So I make a concerted effort to also write songs that are happy, optimistic, or push the listener towards happiness. If I'm not at leas trying to make fans happy, why do I do what I do?

Well, at the beginning of the pandemic, when life was at it's darkest point for many, I found myself writing songs from that position. I felt without hope, locked up, no future, and the music reflected that.

I didn't want to erase those songs, so instead, I put out this collection of Abney Park Songs Of Joy, to balance out the mood. These are just the happy joyful songs we've released from over the years.
