Added 2017-03-13 00:44:02 +0000 UTCToday, thanks to the extra time you Patreon patrons have given me, I've started work on a new music video for one of My Favorite Abney Park songs, "ripples of epiphany". I've always envisioned a music video for this that featured fine art being painted based on the scenes that you're hearing described in the song. I think I've got a technique for making that art look like it's being painted, without going back in time and hiring an old master. (trust me, those guys get grumpy!) Layer 1 has the artwork, while Layer 2 has a blank page, and 'erase' with a paintbrush tip style of pen I presume?

I have a whole tapestry wall hanging in my head that I'd love to make based on a Waterboys song (Further Up, Further In). It's a guy's spiritual journey going from the lower right to the upper left, weaving back and forth through his experiences of growth, and moving beyond needing teachers in the end. Trouble is it would take a really long time to do because I'd have to embroider the whole thing. Probably won't ever happen. But that's one way a musician's song can inspire another artist to put something else new out into the world, like your song says. It's so true that a chance "meeting" with someone through their art, maybe centuries after it was made, can change someone's life and cause them to do or make something that in turn changes other lives. That's the great thing about books, too. Love to meet those grumpy old masters! :)
